Reviews of Law and Disorder

“I knew, respected and worked with Bob Silbering in the family court in the 70s. We were both prosecutors. The justice system was trying to find its legs. A mix of good judges and bad. Good lawyers and bad. Some dedicated. Some not. Bob was one of the dedicated ones. He chronicles the justice system with impeccable recall in this book. Sadly, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The system has not learned from history. Read thisbook and you’ll understand.”

5 stars. “As a former employee in SNC under Mr. Silbering, I was greatly anticipating his memoir. It did not disappoint. It is a breezy read, quite evocative for this reader, but should be considered mandatory reading for the general public in these troubled times. The author not only demonstrates the inner-workings of the court system, and the dedication and hard work of the entire law enforcement community, but offers his opinion as to how today’s progressive DAs have lost their way and how to fix it. I am proud of the work that was undertaken (and still being done) at SNC, and to have worked under Mr. Silbering’s leadership. He’s ‘the best.'”

5 stars. “This book enlightens the reader to a world of information on what a prosecutor must go through in the course of charging a person with a crime. It was interesting to learn that, for the most part, prosecutors are decent, caring and understanding people who make every effort to insure that they have all the facts so as not to falsely charge anyone unless they are absolutely sure of their wrongdoing. Mr. Silbering seems like the kind of person who was trusted and respected by his co-workers, and thus attained the many important positions within the New York City legal system. A very interesting read.”
