    Murder Mystery

How did you start your first murder mystery?

    Re: Murder Mystery

With great difficulty.  For a long time, even I didn't know what had happened in the back story.  I had to rewrite and keep on rewriting, and in the end the book became completely different.   I have worked on two murder mysteries/psychological thrillers. I scribble down the mechanics of the plot and refer to the paper when I'm writing.

     *Simpler, the better

     * Intuitive grasp of events - a feeling that a certain character might behave in a particular way (or an adult may remember specific events that are unique to their personality)

*Some (basic) knowledge of police procedures and forensics, although I tend to leave it out

*Emphasis on how the crime effects the community

*The use of viewpoint to place varying angles on a set of events

    Re: Murder Mystery

I am very interested in writing a Murder Mystery. I watch true crime stories all of the time and I think how awful the stories are. But, then again I think if I were the killer I wouldn't have made that stupid mistake. I couldn't actually do something like that. Although, it does just make me think about how stupid some people really are. Have you actually been sucessful in getting any of yours published? If so, what are they and do you have any suggestions on where to start with this? I am new to the whole actually taking it to the publisher level. Have you actually used this program to publish any of your books?

Have you been successful with publishing any Murder Mystery's yet? Thank you for your input on my questions by the way? If you have published anything can you give me the title and your author name?
