Hello, Paris here. First to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a 32 year African-American female. I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. This is where I currently reside. I have been writing poetry and short stories since the age of 11. My first poem was simple. It goes like this. It is called: Things In A Box: There are lots of things in a box such as bells, toys, and socks, papers, pencils, Christmas tinsels, diamond rings and other things.
In just a few weeks my book of poetry will be published with www.createspace.com. It is called The Images of Me. You can find it on Amazon.com or any retail book store throughout the nation and internationally. I finished my book of poetry years ago but, I did not know how to go about selfpublished it until I found this publishing company called www.Outskirtspress.com I decided not to go with them because it was just to expensive for the package that I wanted so I went with www.createspace.com instead. My book is also on www.scribd.com Present-elect Barack Obama uses that particular website. I feel that it is a honor to have my work published on a site in which our future presendent uses.
A little more about me. I graduated in June of 1994 from Kenmore High School. I went to college off and on for 2 years at the University of Akron. I studied Theatre Arts with the option in acting. At that point in my life I wanted to be an actress. I would still like to do a movie or a broadway theatre show because the art of acting has always been a part of me but, writing, I believe is my calling.
About My family: My mom Beatrice D. Matthews is my best friend. My 4 siblings (sisters) whom I love very much. I have 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews whom I love and adore very much. They are my angels.
My goals and aspirations for the future: To become a better writer and poet, to do a play or movie, to plubish one book of poetry per year, to travel the world, to become famous (a household name). To get back into college to finish my degree majoring in English, minoring in Creative Writing.
