Marian Shalander Kaiser, is the co-author of Rule of Thumb: A Guide to Small Business Basics (WriteLife, 2010), Rule of Thumb: A Guide to Communication Basics for Business Owners and Managers (WriteLife, 2012), and the owner of WriteWorks, Inc., a consulting business offering services in writing, editing and grant writing, as well as workshops in oral and written communication skills, effective e-mail communication and enhancement of business networking skills. She is also an adjunct instructor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, teaching Managerial Communications.
Her professional experience includes serving as Corporate and Foundation Manager for the Omaha Performing Arts Society, teaching high school and college English and Oral Communications, serving as Executive Director of the Bluffs Arts Council, and filling the position of Associate Director of the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) Midlands Region (now known as the Conference for Inclusive Communities). Marian is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, earning a B.S. in English and Education. She earned a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a certificate in arts administration and management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Kaiser is also a bilingual speaker of Czech and English.
